Wu Shuqing, a distingusished economist, former president of Peking University.

Professor Wu was born in January of 1932. He accomplished Economics Graduates courses in China Renmin University and became a teacher there in 1955. Professor Wu has ever served as Assistant, Lecturer, Associate Professor, Professor, Doctorial Candidates Supervisor, Deputy Director, Provost and Deputy President successively in China Renmin University. From 1989 to 1996, he was promoted as the president of Peking University. Currently, he is a professor of PKU, director of Peking University Education Foundation.

Professor Wu's academic interests concentrated on Economics and Education, he published extensively in his researching career, numerous works of him were issued in the key journals on Economics and Education.
